Daniel Roney – Managing Director / Systems ManagerAs the founding director of Detekt in 2003, Daniel is the driving force behind its business development. Early in Detekt's history, Daniel identified a strategic marker: That while much of the world comes to Asia for manufacturing, the availability of professional design and engineering services based in Asia are extremely limited. As a result, Detekt's Taiwan office opened in 2005 and China office in 2006. Its genesis enabled a smooth integration between Western design, engineering and the Chinese manufacturing sector. With this foresight, and the increasing skill level of Asian manufacturing and production, Detekt was able to tap into an integrated solution that allowed its clients to achieve higher levels of engineered product, while retaining the cost-effective advantage of Asian value and its associated monetary exchange rate.
Daniel is passionate about design, and has developed a trusted methodology called Product IntegrasianTM to engage both business and product development in an effective effort to create value for its clients. By pioneering this process Detekt is able to position its clients to take the best advantage of an increasingly competitive global marketplace. Daniel's academic credentials are key to his understanding of the product development environment, and include degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design from Monash University. In addition, he holds a Masters of Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship, as well as an Asialink Fellowship in regional leadership from the University of Melbourne.
